Lake Piburger See

One of the highlights and natural gems in Oetz is the splendid Piburger See lake, a small parallel valley which was formed by a giant rockslide and filled with water afterwards. In winter the lake is embedded in a picture-book landscape covered all in white. Some 20 km of cleared and perfectly signposted walking paths can be found in the surroundings of Oetz and Piburger See lake. If it is cold enough the lake is frozen just like in a winter fairytale, and depending on the thickness of the ice layer even ice skating is possible. A real nature treasure not to be missed!
